Award-winning contemporary folk duo Gilmore & Roberts release their new fundraiser single ‘Every Midnight Mile’ on December 3rd, with all proceeds going to the homelessness charity Shelter. Previously unreleased, ‘Every Midnight Mile’ conjures up the comfort and security of a warm fireside in winter and features guest vocals from Folk Award winner Lucy Ward and rising star Sam Kelly.
“All the things that inspired the song – a cosy room, a roaring fire, feeling safe – are things that many of us forget to be grateful for” explains Katriona Gilmore, “but the fact is that 100,000 children will wake up homeless this Christmas. Shelter do a great job helping people who are struggling to find a place to call home, and we want to support them at their busiest time of year. “
‘Every Midnight Mile’ is available to download exclusively from www.SongArk.org.
‘Every Midnight Mile’ follows hot on the heels of Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts’ fourth album ‘Conflict Tourism‘, Lucy Ward’s third album ‘I Dreamt I Was a Bird‘ and Sam Kelly’s debut album ‘The Lost Boys‘, all released this autumn.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness – and campaign to prevent it in the first place. Shelter is here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
