Roving Crows release ‘Lockdown’ EP

Categories: Music | News

The Roving Crows have been carving out their niche in the UK folk music scene since early 2009.

Over ten years and evolving incarnations they have cultivated an arresting, singular sound that pushes the boundaries of the Celtic Folk genre. The band play with genuine passion, energy and soul. Vital and vibrant, a must see live act who showcase a mix of fiery, Celtic-inspired fiddle, conscious, intelligent lyrics, backed by solid, thumping rhythms and driving, innovative bass.

During the Covid-19 pandemic the Crows, as with all musicians, artists and performers worldwide, have had gigs and concerts cancelled, leaving months of the year without work. There is still great uncertainty over when live musicians can resume and how it will look.

So the Crows decided to take the time to record a 5 track EP together – all socially distant compliant of course!

The 5 track EP features brand new tracks alongside old favourites re-vamped by the new line up, which only hit the stage last August.

Featuring Paul O’Neill on lead vocals and guitar; Caitlin Barrett on fiddle and backing vocals; Jim Smith – bass and backing vocals and Laurence Aldridge on drums and backing vocals. The Roving Crows cannot wait to get back up and running again, but in the mean time you can download their latest EP – ‘lockdown’ via http://rovingcrows.com
