Beautiful Days sold out

if you were planning to get tickets for this years beautiful days festival you are too late! Tickets for Beautiful Days 2012 in August have sold out with just under 4 months to go and with a number of acts still to be announced. Festival organiser David Farrow from DMF Music said “To sell out this far in advance in the current market is amazing. This is our fastest selling year to date. We are very excited about the line-up for the 10th Beautiful Days this year, we’ve got some great acts playing and there is still more to announce on the smaller stages - including the new Theatre Tent line-up.”

The Levellers’ festival, Beautiful Days, which takes place in Devon is a family music festival with six stages, site art, a huge children’s area in the centre of the festival, comedy, theatre, family camping, a healing area, licensed real ale bars from Otter Brewery & carefully selected food and craft stalls. The festival which started in 2003 has no corporate sponsorship or branding and does not advertise.

Widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time, Public Image Limited will headline the Main Stage on the Saturday. After fronting the Sex Pistols, John Lydon formed PiL in 1978. PiL - John Lydon, Bruce Smith, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth – are set to release a new album in 2012. Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, who recently played a sell out show at Wembley Arena, are back at Escot Park by popular demand to headline the main stage on Friday night. Festival founders Levellers who release new studio album Static On The Airwaves in June will close the celebrations on the Sunday night followed by a firework spectacular.

Headlining The Big Top is Jethro Tull's IAN ANDERSON plays Thick as a Brick where Ian Anderson commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the groundbreaking album playing it in its entirety for the first time since its original tour plus highly acclaimed Texan quintet Midlake and guitar legend Richard Thompson. Many more acts have been announced for both stages.

There are still acts to be announced for The Little Big Top, Bimble Inn, The Band Stand and the brand new Theatre Tent which will be hosting theatre, puppet and musical performances throughout the day and then stand-up comedy in the early evening. The festival’s Sunday Theme is also still to be announced.
