Musicport Festival back in Whitby

The Musicport Festival is back in it's original home of Whitby this year, dates are: 5th, 6th, 7th October. The festival features a range of music from around the world, it will be at the Whitby Pavilion Complex but its hoped that a fringe festival will develop in other venues around the town. Despite its great reputation for bringing some world class acts to the Yorkshire Coast & a loyal audience, Musicport are financing the festival for the first time since it began without Arts Council Funding.

Arts funding cuts are starting to bite across the country, this years Musicport event will rely greatly on the goodwill and support of the town to prove it has a future and, as well as ticket sales, this year they are looking for sponsors.

Tickets are on sale now at the Musicport Shop, 16 Skinner Street, Whitby or by phone on 01947 603475 and are £75 for full weekend (£65 before 25th June). Session tickets will be available from 1st August.
