Will Scott and Jan Bell

New York City based songwriters, Will Scott and Jan Bell, will be on tour in the UK from July 16 to August 3, 2010 in support of Scott's acclaimed album, 'Gnawbone,' and Bell's award winning 'Songs for Love Drunk Sinners.' This is Scott and Bell's second UK trip together, following a successful 2009 tour and debut at The Glastonbury Festival last summer.
The tour begins and ends in London with stops in between that include performances in Bath, Brighton, Gillingham, and Southampton. This trip is Scott and Bell’s second UK tour together following their 2009 debut at The Glastonbury Festival. Shows generally include one or more sets from each artist, with a few collaborations.
Originally from Indiana, Scott blends soulful Americana and hill country blues, delivered with a voice that The New York Press describes as “thick as blood.” Scott’s live performances are known as some of the best in the industry (Twisted South Magazine). Americana UK calls him “one of the most impressive new acts of his kind to come along in quite some time.” His most recent release, Gnawbone, continues to receive praise in the US and Europe and is a nominee for “Best Blues Album” at the Independent Music Awards.
Bell was born in Barnsley and, since moving to the US in her teens, has made a name for herself as an alt. country songwriter. Her songs have been covered by Jolie Holland, Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas), and many others. Bell’s album, Songs for Love Drunk Sinners, won the Independent Music Awards “Alt. Country Album of The Year” by popular vote and has received critical acclaim from Village Voice, The Nashville Scene, and Americana UK. She was recently featured in the London Sunday Times, proclaiming her a “latter-day Loretta Lynn from a Yorkshire coal-mining background.”
You can catch Will Scott and Jan Bell at the dates listed below.
