Ely Folk Festival - Sunday report
It has taken us an additional twenty-four hours to run our Sunday feature as we are still reeling from the fact that the sun shone on us, practically non-stop. Of course we all went a little silly. Everyone's smiles broadened, there was an extra skip in the Morris Dancer's steps and the bar almost ran dry!
Lightning Jack
This Cambridge group has musical roots in the work of lowell george, the waterboys, the levellers, bruce springsteen and led zeppelin. So what we had on a Sunday afternoon was an immediate party. Having a similar effect to Dead Like Harry yesterday this was inspired billing and a much appreciated wake up call.

Kerfuffle
This was our first viewing of 'The Fuff' and we were entranced from the first note. We were prepared for each individual's multi-talented stagecraft having just reviewed their new album, 'To The Ground'. However we didn't foresee the energy or tangible enjoyment they managed to communicate to the whole marquee this afternoon. And nobody told us about Hannah's superb dancing.

Last Night's Fun
'The changes of personnel over the years have only galvanized this groups unique entertainment value. Each individual gets their moment to shine. Findlay Napier, their latest addition, is quickly finding his feet with a confident display of stirring guitar and forthright singing. And as a unit there's still the winning tunes and humour that can bond them to any audience'.

Boo Hewerdine
A combination and being the local lad, having oodles of self-confidence and an enviable list of classic songs helped take Boo's set to exhilarating levels. When you throw in copious amounts of crowd participation and his priceless wit you have all the makings of a classic festival performance.

Spiers And Boden
Over the whole weekend we heard how high these guys are held in people's estimations. The Spiral team were particularly looking forward to seeing their latest album, 'Vagabond' brought to life during this headline slot. And of course this most professional of duos didn't disappoint. Being the last act on Sunday didn't equate to a winding down but a chance for a celebration of them and the weekend.
