As one half of the ambient drum n' bass group Lamb Louise
Rhodes has created some of the most striking trip hop
of the last decade. Rhodes provided the full blooded passion in her lyrics and
vocals, set against the electronic soundscape that Andy Barlow created.
The past couple of years have seen her totally re-evaluate her life after the breakdown of the relationship with Barlow and the father of her children. A complete change of lifestyle saw her re-locating to a commune in Surrey, stripping away the layers of her existence to it's underlying reality and strengths.
Artistically one of the fruits of this process is her debut solo album Beloved
One. Ten songs of an unashamedly introspective yet wholly accessible
nature. Gone are the beats and samples to be replaced by acoustic guitar
- strings and percussion appear sparsely. She lays her soul bare, her voice
sensuosly drawing itself over the wounds of her recent past. Her inner strength
is palpable in the questioning nature of her lyrics.
Another product of her new direction is her own independant label; Infinite Bloom Recordings. As well as releasing her own recordings it will be ' an artist friendly, freethinking, art driven, wholly independent home to like minded artists and musicians.'
