jon boden picJon Boden is nothing if not industrious, one half of the award winning Spiers and Boden, one eleventh of the award winning Bellowhead and a solo artist to boot.

Jon has toured internationally with Bellowhead, performed on Later with Jools Holland (alongside Thom Yorke and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and also made two televised appearances at the BBC 2008 Proms. Bellowhead were recently appointed Band in Residence at London’s South Bank Centre, following in the footsteps of St Etienne.

Additionally, Jon has appeared at countless prestigious festivals throughout the UK and has also composed several theatre scores, most recently for the RSC's Merchant of Venice, 2008

Born in Chicago in 1977, he grew up in Winchester, graduated in Mediaeval Studies from Durham University and since becoming a father, has since settled in the South Yorkshire dales.

Songs From The Floodplain

songs from the floodplaiThe album is the story of a post apocalypse England, the actual cause of the nightmare remains unclear, yet floods cover much of the land and society has broken down. How would any of us cope in that situation? Boden puts it simply 'When hard times come knocking, We do what we can'. It's a case of turning back to the land, yet it is a land marred by pollution where the cities have become the wastelands, roads overgrown with weeds. Society clings to quaint custom, preachers talk of judgement day whilst burning books rain ash on the fields like snow.
