Ember
Ember are Emily Williams from Wales and Rebecca Sullivan from Utah. Formed
in 2000 they have carved themselves a reputation for deceptively simple songs
and stonking live performances. An unlikely combination of musical styles
and a healthy dose of kookiness guarantee that you won't have heard anything
like them before. They occasionally flesh their sound out with the cello
of Emma Bryden.
Emily and Rebecca have distinctive and individual voices that work so well together they hardly need any backing music. On their travels thay have soaked up musical styles from far and wide. Over three albums they have played with their native Welsh and American backgrounds and created some quirky and enigmatic songs. But don't let their slightly nutty aspect fool you, they deliver real depth and emotion.
