These guys are from Tucson, Arizona. They started out in 1996 as a duo of Joey Burns and John Convertino, Calexico has grown and developed a sound all its own. Imagine a spaghetti western scored by an Ennio Morricone high on jazz, folk, country, mariachi, surf music and electronics. the 'more than the sum of it's parts' finished product is a dust blown cinematic soundscape of epic proportions.

Over the last decade they have had a healthy output of five commercially released albums, a clutch of EP's, and CD's that are only available at concerts or on the web.

Calexico continues to expand any and all boundaries by remaining extremely active: recording with artists ranging from Nancy Sinatra and Neko Case to Los Super Seven and Iron and Wine, touring with an incredibly diverse range of performers including Wilco and Lyle Lovett, and even making forays into the film world, as evidenced in the 2004 Tom Cruise/Jamie Foxx feature Collateral.

Their latest album is Garden Ruin produced by J.D. Foster. This is being supported by a European tour in the Spring, they are a spectacle live with a stage full of musicians tangibly enjoying themselves.
