The proposals, included in a Government White Paper will leave affected communities with no meaningful say in how their area is developed. A coalition of civic and environmental organisations with over 5 million members is calling on the Government to rethink their plans and introduce a planning system which allows people a say on the decisions that affect them.'

Anyone with a scrap of interest in preserving national heritage should be opposed to the routing of the twice-tolled motorway through the Gabhra (Skryne) Valley in Co. Meath, Ireland. it goes right by the internationally important historical site of the Hill Of Tara.

Now if he was a governor of my kids school I'd be kicking up one hell of a fuss. Despite the fact that he and his backers are obviously full of the soft brown stuff, he's also abusing his position as a school governor.

Scientists are in agreement that global warming is happening and humans are playing a part in it. Our government is looking at ways of taxing us to tackle the issue, we already pay the highest fuel duties in Europe so you would think they would have been at the forefront tackling the issue (no, stop laughing, this is serious). So why the hell are they expanding two of the busiest airports in the world?
