This October Lau present their four day curatorial event, Welcome To Lau Land at the King’s Place in London. The festival will celebrate innovative and renowned artists whom Lau love and it will also mark the launch of their imminent new studio album, Race The Loser.
Especially for the event, Lau have commissioned a short film piece which will be accompanied with a live score by the group themselves. Entitled Nevada the new work by independent filmmakers Ruth Paxton and David Liddell is being created after they received a rather open ended brief from Lau: 'select what we want from their new album, and make anything we want to accompany it visually, for approximately 20 minutes'. Ruth and David's response: a short experimental film about hate, which will poetically interpret the demise of Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller's marriage, in a visceral triptych'.
