O'Hooley & Tidow Autumn Tour Dates

It’s turning out to be a busy summer for chamber folk songsmiths O’Hooley & Tidow. With appearances at Larmer Tree, Festival at the Edge, Trowbridge Village Pump, Cambridge, Broadstairs and Towersey festivals, plus the return to the stage of folk icon Nic Jones, accompanied by his son Joseph on guitar and Belinda on piano and accordion, a jam packed couple of months await.

O’Hooley & Tidow announce their Autumn/Winter tour dates; performing songs from their critically acclaimed album ‘The Fragile.’ In his 4 star MOJO Magazine review Colin Irwin describes the album as ““Idiosyncratic and classic, plaintive, inviting, disquieting, mysterious, harmonic, austere, beautiful, oblique and sing-along.” Robin Denselow in The Guardian simply calls it “Exquisite”.

The duo’s beautifully unusual songs touch on everything from dark folk tales, ecology and cross-dressing historical figures through to the invisibility of the elderly, rumour-mongering and the global economy.

Heidi comments “We wanted this tour to take in many of the places we have been requested to play by fans of our music that we didn’t manage to get to on our big tour of larger venues earlier in the year. We’re excited to be coming to Scotland for the first time too with 3 dates there in December.”

Championed by Nic Jones, Radio 2’s Mike Harding and 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews; O’Hooley & Tidow present an irresistible genre defying blend of thought-provoking songs, striking arrangements, sublime harmonies and cheeky Northern banter.
