New folk festival launches at The Met in Bury, Greater Manchester


The Met, Bury, Greater Manchester, Homegrown, English folk, Eliza Carthy, Gavin Davenport, Jim Moray, Skinny Lister, Pilgrim’s Way, Emily Portman Trio, Faustus, Mawkin, Dizraeli and the Small Gods

A brand new English folk festival will make its debut at The Met in Bury on the weekend of 25th-27th October 2012.

Homegrown will feature the very best in English folk music, with gigs and sessions across three full days.

The first performers to be revealed are Eliza Carthy, Gavin Davenport, Jim Moray, Skinny Lister, Pilgrim’s Way, Emily Portman Trio, Faustus, Mawkin, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, and a number of up and coming stars courtesy of Folk Rising.

The Met has long been known for its excellence in programming English folk music, and with Homegrown, it hopes to further showcase the genre in a similar vein to Celtic Connections.
