Lau get their own festival at King's place

Lau stage a 'curated week' at london's King's Place in October, it is a '4-day arts festival celebrating innovative and renowned artists whom LAU love'. This includes Roddy Woomble, Rura, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Adem and King Creosote and Jon Hopkins in the musical corner. Plus a whole load of filmic and participatory shenanigans.

The whole event is centred around the launch of their new album, Race The Loser.

One of the events is a ' cross-platform experimental work' by David Liddell and Ruth Paxton:
'Lau's brief was simple; select what we want from their new album, and make anything we want to accompany it visually, for approximately 20 minutes. '

'Our response; NEVADA - a short experimental film about hate, which will poetically interpret the demise of Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller's marriage, in a visceral triptych. '

have a look at this promo (NSFW by the way, many a bare boob in it), if you like it you can donate to the project as they need to raise a hefty $7,800 by 3rd August to do it (I don't know why its dollars either)

The donate page is at http://www.indiegogo.com/NEVADA
