Jen Ord releases debut EP

Jen Ord, cumbria, bristol, KAN, Manys A Mile

Jen Ord is a Bristol-based, Cumbrian-born singer who is set to release her debut EP, Manys A Mile, on May 28 courtesy of Haystack Records.

Jen Ord’s interest in traditional English song first emerged as a child growing up in Cumbria. Her parents were involved in local clog and morris sides, which inevitably exposed Jen and her siblings to a whole repertoire of song and dance as their parents performed at events and festivals in the region.

Learning firstly recorder and piano, before adding accordion and fiddle to repertoire, Manys A Mile actually best showcases her rich vocals and sensitive, unusual arrangements, bringing her piano to the fore.

You can catch her at Bristol’s Colston Hall supporting KAN on 27 May and have a sneak preview here:

Copies of the EP will be available from Haystack Records from May 28 onwards.

1.    The Cuckoo (trad.)
2.    Live Not Where I Love (trad.)
3.    I Wonder What Is Keeping My True Love Tonight (trad.)
4.    Song Of A Drinking Man’s Wife (Alistair Hulett)
